Question: Hi I have a 2005 Dodge Dakota Quad cab 4x4 pickup. The shocks and struts need replaced and I would like to up grade from the factory units. I use the truck for daily driving and for towing my ski boat on weekends. The boat weights about 3600 to 3800 pounds. KYB is coming out with a front strut for my truck in June 2010 a GR-2 part #341484 and they have rear shocks gas-adjust KG54321 and monomax 565040. What would be my best way to go. I also heard that Bilstein HD shocks part # BE5-A701-HO will fit the rear. Do you know if this is true?. Is there any thing that will work better Like Rancho or Monroe??. Thanks for any help you can give me.

Answer: You're right, the 341484 is set to be available at some point in the second quarter, unfortunately we won't have a price until it is actuall available though. The Gasajust and Monomax are both good choices for the rear. The Gasajust will be softer than the Monomax, so you'll be more comfortable with the truck unloaded if you go that route, but the stiffer monomax will give you more control when the truck is fully loaded.
The Bilstein A701 is for an 03 2wd Dakota, so it is not designed to fit your truck.
