Air Lift Motorhome Air Springs

Air Lift add-on air springs can provide adjustable support for compatible motorhome suspensions. Begin with the chassis underneath the coach, then evaluate loaded ride height, existing spring condition and the installation requirements of the specific kit.

Identify the motorhome chassis

Motorhome body names do not always reveal the suspension underneath. Use the Chevrolet and GM, Ford or Toyota chassis guides to narrow the application, then verify year and chassis designation. A coach’s registration year can differ from its chassis year, so identification records are more useful than exterior appearance.

Air springs supplement the suspension

Adjustable air pressure lets an eligible helper-spring system provide additional support as loading changes. That can help address loaded sag within the system’s intended use. It does not raise GVWR, axle ratings, tire ratings or towing limits, and it is not permission to operate an overloaded motorhome.

Interpret the 5,000-pound figure correctly

Some Air Lift systems are with up to 5,000 pounds of load-leveling support. That figure belongs to the applicable product, not every motorhome kit and not added legal payload. Check the exact kit’s operating limits and use actual loaded vehicle weights when evaluating the suspension.

Check installation and adjustment requirements

Many applications use no-drill installation, but mounting requirements vary by chassis. Follow the kit instructions for brackets, air-line routing, clearances and pressure limits. Remote adjustment requires the appropriate control equipment. Worn springs, leaks or damaged suspension parts should be assessed rather than hidden with additional air pressure.

Frequently asked questions

Will air springs increase my motorhome’s carrying rating?

No. They may provide supplemental leveling support, but the vehicle’s original weight and towing limits still apply.

Does every kit include remote pressure control?

Do not assume that it does. Check the kit contents and compare compatible compressor or control options separately.
