Safe-T-Plus Fitment Guide

Jeep Safe-T-Plus Fitments

The legacy Safe-T-Plus guide lists one steering control and mounting-kit combination for two Jeep 4x4 applications: the 1990–2000 Cherokee and 1990–2000 Wrangler.

Legacy Jeep applications

Both listings use the same Safe-T-Plus unit and application-specific bracket. The vehicle must fall within the exact year range and be a 4x4.

Confirm your Jeep before ordering

1

Match the exact application

Confirm that the vehicle is a 1990–2000 Cherokee or Wrangler and that it is a 4x4.

2

Check for modifications

Lift kits, axle swaps, aftermarket steering, and relocated brackets can change clearance and mounting geometry.

3

Verify the hardware

Send the year, model, drivetrain, and clear photos of the steering linkage and current stabilizer mounts before ordering.

What the Safe-T-Plus system includes

The 31-140 steering control and J-209K mounting kit are separate parts, and both are required for this legacy application. Safe-T-Plus adds hydraulic damping and a self-centering force, but it cannot correct worn steering components, poor alignment, damaged mounts, or geometry problems caused by modifications.
