10 Year Old 1998 Lexus ES 300 Shock Mount Replacement

Question

I have a 1998 ES300 lexus. My front end has a pounding and
squeaking noise while driving. I was told that my struts are no good. I need

struts for the front. What brand do you reccomend? I heard KYB are good.Do
you recommend buying the upper strut mounts as well as the struts? Would my
old ones be ok? What are the part numbers that you recommend so that when I
go to your web site, I know which ones to purchase?

The KYB and Monroes are very similar, both a twin tube low pressure design.
The KYBs are more popular with Asian market cars owners.

The car is 10 years old, so it would probably be a good idea to change at
least the front mounts, since
you have to take them off the car anyway to replace the strut. This will
save you labor having to replace one later down the line.
Some of the noise youn hear possibly could be from a worn mount as well.
