Everyday replacement and complete assemblies
Excel-G is KYB’s standard OE-replacement shock and strut range. Strut-Plus provides an all-in-one assembly approach for applicable vehicles. These are different purchasing formats, so compare what is included rather than judging only by the shock or strut name. KYB also offers mounts and boots: mounts help manage vibration and noise, while protective boots help shield the rod and seal area.
Firmer control and adjustable performance
Gas-a-Just is positioned for firmer control compared with standard shocks. AGX provides manual damping adjustment for applicable performance and sport-compact uses. MonoMax is the heavy-duty performance-upgrade family aimed at trucks. These categories describe different goals, not a universal progression in which the firmest option is automatically best. Match the choice to your driving priorities and the vehicle’s approved application.
Specialized systems need specific matching
KYB’s broader range includes steering stabilizers, motorhome Gas-a-Just dampers, and self-leveling or electronic replacements for specific applications. The motorhome Gas-a-Just range is described as high-pressure gas monotube construction for applicable Class A, B, and C motorhomes and conversion vans. Electronic and self-leveling systems require particular care: do not replace them with a conventional unit merely because the mounting points look similar.
